The Lanarkshire

Work continues on the Lanarksire and have spent a few more hours adding some more body details towards the back of the boat.  Over the weekend I plan to complete the section under the chimney along with adding some funnels and pipes around this.

Mika Hakkinen

The painting of Mika Hakkinen continues to progress. I spent most of this weekend adding the front left tyre. This took longer than expected though as my first attempt didn’t feel/look quite right. I am now much happier with the second attempt and this is now drying before I can add more detail to it.

I have now made a start adding the finer detail of the ship onto the painting, I spent around 3 hours over the course of the week doing this. Of course more layers will be placed over this part once dry. Keep checking back for more updates.

With the deadline date fast approaching I decided to spend a majority of my free time over the weekend progressing with the painting of Mika Hakkinen. I have now completed the back wing and most of the bodywork on the car. I have also had time to start painting the helmet and front wing although these are still not completed. My next task will be to add the left had tyres and add more details to the helmet and front wing, I may also have opportunity to start adding sponsor logos etc.

Just a quick update regarding the Mika Hakkinen painting. Last night I was able to paint the top camera and the engine cooling duct to the painting along with a few other minor body work details. I am aiming on Sunday to complete a majority of the bodywork, finish the rear wing, roughly paint in the helmet and (if time is available) start the front wing.

The Lanarkshire

Introducing “The Lanarkshire” a once grand vessel home to many servicemen and women, stationed in the Firth with the task of protecting Britain and its interests. The painting has been commissioned by my client as a birthday present for his fathers 80th birthday whom was once stationed on this fine vessel.

The painting is been created on an A2 Canvas and is again been painted with Oil Paint. The deadline for the project is the end of June and due to its size, details and complexity (especially on the upper deck) I thought it would be important to start it early.

To date I have completed the sky and started to paint the front bodywork of the ship. Over the next week I am aiming to complete the “red and black” zones of the bodywork before moving onto the “white” zone.

Lewis Hamilton

Work on the painting of Lewis Hamilton continues at a steady place and so far I am happy with the surface reflections and shadows. I have spent some time adding more detail to the front nose cone along with finishing the front wing along with adding the first wing mirror and associated bodywork above this. I am now aiming to move onto the main section of the car around the vodafone logo with the paint brush.
