After spending 8 hours over the weekend with a very fine brush the painting of Michael Schumacher is now nearing completion. Back wing details, helmet details, front nose and front wing details have now all been added along with side mirrors and a few other bits. Some details though still need some extra details but these can only be added once the paint has dried. I am aiming to have the painting completed for the 2nd weekend of September.

Schumi
Just another quick update on the painting of Michael Schumacher. I have spent the day adding and finishing back wing details along with starting to add cockpit and helmet details. The cockpit details and helmet though still need extra details adding but this can only be done once the first layer of paint has dried. I have also spent some time tidying the front wing and adding the right hand part of the wing, again though this will need reworking once dry.

With me returning back to work I have not been able to spend as much time on the painting over the past week. Again though I have managed to make some progress with the painting and have now finished the final tyre. I am hoping to add some missing details over the bank holiday weekend and to add either Michaels helmet and to add some more details onto the front wing.
Before Beeching
With me returning back to work I have not been able to spend as much time on the painting over the past week. I have though managed to finish the painting of the roof and have started inputting the wall on the fan window. I am hoping to progress this more over the bank holiday weekend.
Schumi
Work on the painting of Schui has continued over the past week. I have spent time reworking the front right tyre as well as adding the back right tyre and suspension. I have also added the front left tyre, this though was difficult and took much time to get to a standard that I was happy with. The work is currently quite wet and so will need a few days to dry before work on the last tyre can be made.
Before Beeching
I have now started to complete work on the roof of the LNWR station. After adding some base colour I left this to dry before coming back to it to add the roof struts, pipes and other details. Over the next few days I plan to add the arch and other details before moving onto the front wall of the station.

After a long break I finally had some time to rework the painting of Michael Schumacher yesterday. Unfortunately I had over the past few months left the painting facing the sun in the conservatory meaning that it had faded greatly and had turned orange. It took 5 hours to rework but I think it was worth it, aiming to progress this painting a little more over the week before I go back to work next Monday.
Before Beeching
I spent this morning working the sky into the painting. I have tried to use blues/reds and purples to give a “moody” feel to the image. Again it shows Buxton on a cloudy overcast day, something that you get used too if you have live there!
As quite a lot of paint was applied to the image it will require the weekend to dry before I can start working on the main station buildings. Keep checking back for latest updates.
Buxton Opera House.
Remember the painting of Buxton Opera House that was completed back in April? Well the new owner of the painting has had it framed and she was kind enough to send me some images. Always nice to see work that you have produced been enjoyed by others 🙂
Babbington Lane
The painting of Babbington Lane is now complete. A very tricky picture to paint and replicate due to the amount of perspective within the original image. A challenge though is always a good thing and I hope I have done justice to the original photo I took back in early April?
I will now leave the painting to dry over the next few days before taking a detailed colour scan of the image, this will be added to the “completed work section” once I have done this.
Update: the scanned high res image can now be found at the following:
In the meantime I plan to start the sky on “Before Beeching” start an A3 painting of Solomans temple in Buxton and also rework and finish “Schui”
Babbington Lane
Hello all.
Just another quick update about Babbington Lane. Over the past week I have spent the a “few” hours on the painting every day and progress has been fairly rapid. The buildings on the left hand of the street are now completed and details such as fixtures, posters and shop signs have all now been applied to the painting. The buildings on the left hand side of the building are now nearing completion along with the pavement and road. There a few more jobs that need finishing such as completing the buildings on the left hand of the street, finishing the pavement, adding street markings and adding street lamps. All being well I am aiming to have picture completed on Wednesday/Thursday of this week so it can have a bit of time to dry before been delivered to my client.

Nearing completion – showing details in shop windows, fixtures on buildings and updated tarmac. All that is left are street markings, right pavement and building and street lamps.
